"Why is it wrong to kill humans?"
           Satsuki Yatouji, X, CLAMP
? seeks an equilibrium between the uncertainty and inevitability aspect of death. Initiated by the above proposition found in CLAMP's unfinished 1997 apocalyptic manga titled X, the same question is once again challenged through a BBS-inspired website accessible via QR codes scattered around Tokyo. As one of the earliest Alternate Reality Game (ARG) project by the artist, ? also takes references from various Japanese fantasy manga like Hiroya Oku's Gantz first published in 2000 and 2007's PSYЯEN by Toshiaki Iwashiro. Another recurring symbol, the gachapons once again highlight the artist's obsession with adolescent and kawaii culture in relation to his constant portrayal of deaths machismo.
